Other Organisations
Yorkshire and the Humber Deanery provides Clinical Academic training in partnership with a number of national and local organisations, such as Universities and NHS Trusts. These partnerships are accountable to national regulators. Trainees can also access support from the specialty Royal Colleges.
Regulators
NIHR Trainees Coordinating Centre
The National Institute of Health Research Trainees' Coordinating Centre (NIHRTCC) is a national organisation responsible for the Integrated Academic Training Pathway. It allocates NIHR ACF, CL and CS posts, provides resources for Deaneries and trainees, runs conferences and other events, and can approve NIHR branding for locally-funded Academic posts.

General Medical Council
The General Medical Council (GMC) registers doctors licensed to practice in the UK. In 2010, it took over the functions previously held by the Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board (GMC). The GMC is responsible for the approval of Clinical and Academic training programmes run by Yorkshire and the Humber Deanery.

University Medical Schools
The University of Leeds Medical School
The University of Leeds School of Medicine works closely with the West Yorkshire Locality Office (WYLO) of Yorkshire and the Humber Deanery. Academic Foundation, ACF, CL and CS trainees are attached to one of the four Institutes in the Medical School to undertake the academic component of their training. These four Institutes are the Leeds Institute of Genetics, Health & Therapeutics (LIGHT), the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences, the Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine and the Leeds Institute of Medical Education.

Hull York Medical School
Hull York Medical School (HYMS) runs as a partnership between the University of York and the University of Hull, using the expertise and sites of both institutions. North & East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire (NEYNL) Locality Office of Yorkshire and the Humber Deanery has a strong partnership with HYMS to support the IAT programme. The number of clinical academic trainees hosted by the academic departments at HYMS is set to triple over the next 3 years as the programme and number of specialties available expands.

The University of Sheffield Medical School
The University of Sheffield Medical School works in partnership with the South Yorkshire Locality Office (SYLO) to provide the IAT pathway in South Yorkshire. It has a student body of over 1000 students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The government's independent Research Rating for the school is 5 - indicating that most of our research is of international standing, and all is of at least national importance. There are five Faculty departments; Infection and Immunology, Cardiovascular Science, Human Metabolism, Neuroscience and Oncology. The Academic Unit of Medical Education (AUME) supports and enhances the role of teaching in the Medical School, as well as conducting and publishing its own research.

The University of Sheffield School of Clinical Dentistry
The University of Sheffield School of Clinical Dentistry is (alongside Sheffield Medical School), part of the University of Sheffield's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health. It is renowned for world-leading research (4th in the UK), and currently hosts two Academic Clinical Fellows.

NHS Trusts
The region of Yorkshire and the Humber contains a number of NHS Trusts providing primary, secondary, tertiary, social and logistical care to patients. Clinical Academic posts are run as a partnership between the Deanery, the University Medical or Dental School and one or more NHS Trusts.
