The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives people a general right of access to information held by or on behalf of public authorities, promoting a culture of openness and accountability across the public sector. The FOI Act differs from the Data Protection Act (DPA) in that the FOI Act covers access rights to information about public authorities and the DPA covers access rights to personal data.
Any person has the right to make a request for information held by a public authority. Requests for information must be made in writing, which includes e-mails.
The Postgraduate Deanery is an integral part of the Yorkshire and Humber Strategic Health Authority. As such all requests for information under the act should be directed to the SHA via their website
