Deanery Assessment Advisory Group (DAAG)
This cross deanery group was set up to provide advice to the GP school and individual educators on how to manage the delivery of the assessments of the nMRCGP. Having rolled out training in the workplace based assessments we now hope that we can make the assessments consistent and help educators use them as an educational tool. The group also aims to provide resources to assist educators in helping their registrars to manage the external assessments of the nMRCGP - the Applied Knowledge test (AKT) and the Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA). We aim to encourage high quality educational supervision and give guidance on changes to the eportfolio.
Group membership is as follows:
- Adrian Dunbar
- Paul Johnson
- David Rose
- Amar Rughani
- Mike Tomson
- Simon Hall
- Hugh McCullough
It's worth reading the DAAG newletters (right hand column) which give topical advice on how to manage the assessments, together with resources that we hope you will find useful. If trainees, trainers and educational supervisors read them, take notice of them and if necessary act on them, it is much more likely that all our trainees will get ‘satisfactory’ outcomes at ARCP panels.
