Working Patterns

The New Deal rules governing each type of working pattern can be found by clicking on the relevant section on the left.

Please bear in mind that the New Deal and Working Time Directive rules operate concurrently. Where they differ, the most stringent should be applied, e.g. under New Deal maximum full shift length is 14 hours, whereas under WTD it is 13 hours. In practice, therefore, maximum shift length is 13 hours.
