CT2 CMT vacancies in Yorkshire. 

We would like to bring to your notice the advert for CT2 posts in CMT which has been placed on the deanery website.

These posts may be of interest to current CMT trainees who anticipate they either may not complete CMT curriculum and MRCP before the end of CT2 or who have not secured higher specialist training.  If you are interested in applying for a 1 year CT2 rotation you may wish to discuss this with your Training Programme Director.  Closing date: 16th May 2012.

Core Medical Training (CMT) relates to trainees in the first common period of Specialty Training between Selection out of Foundation Training Year 2 and Selection into ST3. It is a generic spread of the discipline of medicine and the first step in specialty training. 

CMT programmes are designed to deliver core training in General Internal Medicine by acquisition of knowledge and skills as assessed by the work place based assessments and the MRCP. Programmes are usually for two years and are broad based consisting of four to six placements in medical specialties. These placements over the two years must include direct involvement in the acute medical take. Trainees completing core training will have a solid platform of GIM from which they can continue into Specialty Training. Completion of CMT will be required before entry into Specialty training at ST3.
