Teaching and Learning
The programme provides training in all aspects of adult cardiothoracic surgery, with the exception of transplantation. There would also be the possibility of obtaining paediatric cardiac surgical experience at Leeds Infirmary.
The programme follows the new curriculum outlined on the ISCP website www.iscp.ac.uk. There is a continuous programme of formal and informal postgraduate education and regular case conferences with allied specialities. There is access to departmental, postgraduate and medical school libraries.
Progress in training will be monitored by the Speciality Training Committee on a six monthly basis at the end of each module.
Study leave is available through the School for training courses and academic meetings.
