The Yorkshire School of Surgery teaching programme commenced in October 2010 as part of the schools continued commitment to deliver an educational curriculum for higher surgical trainees in the region. It has been designed to integrate with the knowledge and skills defined by the ISCP in bimonthly Friday afternoon teaching sessions. The components of these sessions will deliver knowledge, technical skills, clinical leadership and management skills providing a sound foundation for exit examinations and consultancy.

As an adjuvant to the teaching sessions and with presenter permission, copies of the slides and audio from the lectures are available for download via the resources page on this site. In addition, those trainees who wish can subscribe to the associated podcast which will accompany the lecture series.

Information regarding location of the teaching sessions and proposed topics please see the link to YSS Educational Lecture Series. In addition to the lecture series, additional information pertaining to regional and national meetings, seminal papers in the surgical specialities and recommended courses (by fellow trainees) can also be found by selecting the appropriate links. This information is continually updated and any suggestions are welcomed to yss.podcasts@gmail.com
