SAS Doctors

Yorkshire and the Humber Postgraduate Deanery are continuing to support Staff and Associate Specialist Grade doctors within the region in their pursuit of Continuing Professional Development. During 2011/2012 the Deanery allocated £608,350 of funding provided by the Department of Health to approximately 1128 SAS Doctors throughout the region.

GMC - CESR applications through Article 14

The General Medical Council have developed a system whereby SAS doctors, who have not completed specified training programme can apply under Article 14 of The General and Specialist Medical Practice Order for a Certificate confirming Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR). 

GPs who have not followed a GMC approved training programme can apply under Article 11 of the Order for a Certificate confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR)

Generic Skills Training Provision

The Deanery has commissioned a suite of modular courses to enable trainers (consultants and SAS doctors) and trainees to develop their generic skills. These courses are available as a blended, on line and face to face delivery.
