The Deanery
Clinical Skills and Simulation Training
The Yorkshire and Humber Deanery has invested significantly in equipment and facilities for the provision of clinical skills and simulation training in 2010-2011.

For Foundation and Core Trainees, clinical skills laboratories in all Trusts have been equipped to train in basic skills such as suturing, arterial blood testing and airway management skills.
Higher and specialist trainees have access to high fidelity and virtual reality simulators to train in the technical skills required for their curriculums.

All trainees will be able to practice in simulated clinical environments to help learn the important non-technical skills such as decision making, situation awareness and communication.

Please see the strategy (listed on the right) for further details on the facilities and equipment. The strategy also outlines the educational sequence of training for clinical skills.
We aim to provide clinical skills training facilities which:
- match to your curriculum needs
- provide flexible training and practice
This training will ultimately lead to better skilled and safer doctors.
