We are fortunate, as a scheme to be large enough to be able to offer a wide diversity of practices. Most of our practices are involved in undergraduate training and some also in pre-registration house officer training. Practices vary from small market town dispensing to suburban and town centre, and there are opportunities for practice exchange to provide a wide diversity of learning situations.
All out of hours work is covered by GP Co-Operative resulting in sensible out of hours rotas, supervised by experienced principals.
Historically, half of our VTS registrars have stayed on to work in Doncaster and district and our innovative Health Authority and PCTs are keen to see this tradition continue. Salaried posts are often available to bridge the cap between training and full partnership.
