Laparoscopic Simulation Skills Training.

A structured training programme has been created to help all trainees learn, practice and improve laparoscopic skills by using the simulators. This consists of:

• a practical component
• a theoretical component – STRATOG Minimal Access Surgery

Please find attached the targets for simulation training for each year group as referred to in the Y&H training matrix. 

You will need to upload evidence into your eportfolio and include completion as part of your annual supervisors report. We hope that the simulation practice will improve acquisition of skills in theatre especially as there has been a lack of theatre for many trainees during Covid

Every unit has EoSim boxes available that can be loaned out and the virtual reality lapsim machines are located in Hull, York, Bradford and Sheffield. You will have been allocated a unit depending on your location and should use study leave to attend if the simulator is not in your base hospital.
