The School of Emergency Medicine
Yorkshire and Humber

Welcome to the Yorkshire and Humber School of Emergency Medicine!

We are an inclusive, open, supportive and friendly specialty school delivering high quality, comprehensive training for individuals wishing to become Consultants in Emergency Medicine. We are a geographically large school with variation in experiences that match this. We are a large Emergency Medicine School in terms of geography and trainee numbers (over 250 at all grades across the wider region)

We have expertise in Sub-speciality training experiences and support a great number of Out of Program (OOP) activities in departments around the region for tailored training experiences for individual trainees.

The whole school is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion in our training program, and we strive to deliver this. We support Less than Full time (LTFT) training and align this to ensure that trainees that need of wish to work in this way

We recognise the importance of the role of Emergency Medicine in leading systems and teams and build this into our training placements and regional education program.

Our training departments are located across East, North, South and West Yorkshire with training program directors focussed on each module of training in each of these locations (ACCS, Intermediate and Higher training). We have a highly skilled and supportive TPD and Education leads.

Our website will allow you to identify all regional requirements to support training, as well as some external links to RCEM, the Curriculum and learning resources. It allows access to supportive, organisational and practical requirements for training in Emergency Medicine in Yorkshire and Humber.
