The 9th annual Future Leaders Programme (FLP) conference is planned to take place on 25 March 2022.  It is open to current and prospective fellows, FLP alumni, educational supervisors, and all healthcare professionals with an interest in leadership - whatever stage they are at in their career.

The conference theme “Leadership for all in a digital world” reflects the ongoing challenge our healthcare leadership workforce faces at all levels in the NHS. Our vision is to foster solidarity amongst those early in their leadership careers through a multi-disciplinary approach.

In our current digital age, we wish to view the challenges of leadership with a robust critical eye and encourage good scholarship by showcasing the FLP, its people and their projects. The event will exemplify the 9 domains of the Healthcare Leadership Model in action. We hope to provide the beginnings of a leadership toolkit to healthcare professionals early in their leadership careers.

We are proud to announce our Keynote Speakers are:

  • Joanne Lockwood: Founder & CEO of SEE Change Happen, Inclusion and Belonging Specialist

  • Professor Laura Serrant OBE: Regional Head of Nursing & Midwifery (North East & Yorkshire), Award Winning International Speaker: Leadership Development and Inclusive Practice Specialist

The Future Leaders’ Programme is one of the largest leadership programmes of its kind in the United Kingdom. The Future Leaders Programme offers opportunities for medical and dental trainees, public health registrars, and qualified nurses, allied health professionals, pharmacists, and health care scientists working within Yorkshire to do a one-year Leadership Fellowship to help grow and develop their personal leadership skills. For more information, please see the Future Leaders’ Programme website.
