This fellowship is an exciting opportunity to address the key recommendation from the Watcher Report (2016) - to increase the numbers of clinicians leading digital transformation. COVID-19 has been a disruptor in the NHS and has accelerated digital change in the NHS. The fellow would be involved in evaluating the effectiveness of new tools including efficiency and cost benefits.The Electronic Patient Record (EPR) is a clinical transformation project with the potential to be the biggest quality improvement project for many years. It will support continuous improvement of clinical process with impact on improved patient care, safety, outcomes and experience. The fellow will promote clinical engagement in all stages of the EPR roll-out including evaluation and procurement. Once deployed, the fellow will ensure that the structured clinical information from the IT system is used for continuous service improvement, performance monitoring, education, audit, research including the development of departmental dashboards. The fellow will develop a personal project of interest based on an analysis of an unmet need. This will require the using the NHS nine leadership dimensions including sharing the vision, engaging a team and influencing others. The project will be supported by the Clinical Digital Leadership team and will develop greater understanding of the process for transformation.
