This project will use Leeds improvement methodology and provide the Fellow with the opportunity to review nurse antimicrobial stewardship education and competencies. This can propagate the early effective antibiotic treatment where there is clinical suspicion of bacterial infection. They will be expected to become familiar with the diagnostic tests necessary before the first dose of antibiotics is given. Also identify mechanisms to support appropriate course length and prompt intravenous to oral switch.  The CLF will be expected to:  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of how quality improvement tools, such as PDSA cycles, statistical process and run charts, lead to successful and sustained change. • Become competent in the application of Leeds Improvement Method, the Trust’s approach to quality improvement and service redesign with opportunity to undertake the Lean for Leaders programme. • Ensure that patient safety and experience is central to any improvement work, and can be demonstrated by the end of any project. • Produce a report of the year’s activities, outcomes and development using 360 feedback, and insights into personal development, gained from mentoring, supervision and coaching
