The aim of this post is to provide trainees with experience in leadership, translation of innovative developments into improved patient experience and outcomes and coordination of change across multiple organisations.   

The Fellow will work alongside the Director of Clinical Simulation, the Deputy Directors of clinical simulation and the Training programme directors of Acute Medicine in Yorkshire in delivering this project, and they will be closely supervised and mentored by one of the Training programme directors in Acute Medicine. They will be joining the monthly medical education meetings of clinical simulation based in Hull and the regional meetings of the school across the Deanery in order to understand the training needs of the medical registrars and work on the project towards increasing the SCE passing rates for the region.   

The trainee will be supported to create a series of educational courses dictated by the medical curriculum and the SCE blueprint and will work through all the process of creating educational activities, from performing a needs analysis to mapping objectives to curriculum, training faculty and delivering a course at a regional level. They will have the opportunity to get training in educational methods and aspects of an educationalist as well as training in clinical simulation and debriefing as well as newer immersive techniques as virtual reality teaching.
