Leeds teaching Hospitals (LTHT) has an ambition to be an inclusive employer with a workforce representative of the community it serves.  We have an extensive Black Minority Ethnic (BME) network supported by our Chief Executive.  The BME network has ambitious plans and a Clinical Leadership Fellow (CLF) would be an integral part in driving forward this agenda with an aim to:

•           Lead a project that supports clinical leaders at all levels  in LTHT in improving its position against the Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) indicator 1 with a focus on percentage of BME clinical staff aspiring to and achieving  in medical and non-medical bands 8a and above.  Supported by the Chief Nurse Team, senior HR colleagues and Director of Postgraduate Dental & Medical Education.

•           Promoting equality, inclusion and widening participation through the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of clinical career clinics, embedding the organisations approach to reciprocal mentoring schemes within clinical teams, inclusivity ambassadors and Allyship model for non-medical and medical professionals from a BME background. This will support the Trust in improving its position against the Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) indicator 7 providing equal opportunities for career progression or promotion.
