This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to influence and improve the training of foundation doctors in Yorkshire and Humber. The core focus of the year is to develop leadership skills whilst undertaking a variety of projects. It is expected that the successful candidates will work individually and collaboratively on projects tailored to their individual leadership development needs. The fellows will work directly with trainees, trainers and local administrators whilst also contributing to senior management teams within the Foundation School. Fellows will participate in a wide range of additional activities: recruitment, ARCP panels and representing the organization at local, regional and national events. The candidate will be supported to complete a 1 year qualification (eg PGCert Medical Leadership or Education or similar).Project: Foundation Contentiousness Index: The project will aim to identify reliable and statistically robust metrics which the FLP will work to quantify and test against existing methods of identification of those in need of extra educational support. The FCI will be used as a quality improvement measure with positive outcomes including the potential to reduce ARCP adverse outcomes, reduce extensions to training, maximise targeted training opportunities for doctors with additional educational needs and help ensure no one gets 'left behind'.
