Leadership Fellow - Echocardiography Development

The responsibility of the fellow will be to work across the regional integrated care group to 1) improve training for sonographers/cardiology trainees 2) to improve collaboration between echo departments and the sonographer workforce. Echo is a high demand service and a vital diagnostic test.  Consequently, departments in the regional care group have struggled to deliver echo within the required wait times.  The fellow will work with with echo departments across the South Yorks to produce a training website for delivering the echo curriculum to sonographers and registrars. The fellow is expected to have a strong background in cardiology/ echo and will be responsible for producing educational content for the training website in collaboration with departmental leads, senior sonographers and cardiologists within the regional care group. Scope exists to publicise training/teaching and regional collaboration and meetings by means establishing a presence on social media platforms and through presentation of work at conferences/journal publication. The fellow will also work as part of an MDT to establish a regional model for sonographer training and reporting guidelines as well as organising and facilitating regional collaborative meetings to develop/promote them. The job is based in the Diagnostic Cardiology Unit of Sheffield Teaching Hospital. The fellow will have access to a range of developmental and learning opportunities across the management/leadership spectrum.
