This position offers a unique opportunity to work within health and social care (H&SC) networks. The purpose of the post is to work within the SYB ICS Workforce Hub to support social care integration. The focus is to explore the complex issues facing both H&SC using ED&I as a means to address these, enabling positive steps to be taken towards challenging those nationally recognised health inequalities.

The People Plan recognises the vital role played by social care, recently highlighted by Covid-19, demonstrating a lack of parity between H&SC and the impact this has on the health of our communities.

Within the SYB ICS workforce hub, social care has a high profile and links with myriad organisations and sectors including local authority, the private, voluntary and independent sector as well as our health partners from the NHS and primary care. It is anticipated that the post-holder will maintain and further expand collaborations and networks with key stakeholders, initially with those identified but also recognising that there are others within the system that are currently unknown.

It is anticipated that this post will attract future leaders with an interest in social care and health policy, such as those from Public Health, Community and Primary Care, nurses/midwives and AHPs who are aligned with community services.
