There is an agreed planned expansion of Foundation posts starting in 23-24 to accommodate this increase. Yorkshire and Humber Foundation School will need to design, agree and implement 216 new Foundation posts across the FY1 and FY2 training years. This is an opportunity to deliver transformational change to the Foundation programme locally and influence the training of thousands of doctors over the next 5-10 years.The aims are to

1) Perform structured peer group meetings to identify trainee needs & requirements from expansion posts.

2) Meet with trust educational leaders DME/MEM/ FTPDS to establish local training opportunities that minimise disruption to training & trust services but deliver the maximal training benefit to trainees.

3) Agree regional LTFP programmes with LEPs to make it flexible and accessible.

4) Develop programmes that meet the goals of the Foundation review including simulation training.

5) Expand specialised, and priority programmes with the School, while maintaining a high ratio of community programmes (eg psychiatry, general practice, paediatrics).

6) Develop novel programmes that will expose trainees to a wider training base, including the use of LIFT schemes.

In addition you will complete a PGcert or equivalent, imbed yourself in the team, attend operational meetings, be part of Academic selection.
