Joint Dental Foundation Core Training (JDFCT)
The Yorkshire and the Humber Joint Dental Foundation Core Training programme (JDFCT) is a two year programme that combines Dental Foundation Training and Dental Core Training Year 1. Twelve trainees are recruited to Yorkshire and the Humber each year.
Trainees will alternate working between a primary care and secondary care setting througout the programme. Trainees will have an Educational Supervisor for both their primary care and secondary care sites.
All trainees working across Yorkshire and the Humber will be employed by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Trainees will be subject to an IRCP and FRCP in line with the DFT and DCT. Further details are avaialble here:

Trainees will be recruited via Oriel. JDFCT Trainees will be recruited alongside Dental Foundation Trainees.

Prior to starting the programme, JDFCTs will be invited to attend the CITY Course. This is held at the end of August each year and is a skills based induction to hospital dentistry.
With the exception of the CITY Course, all other study days will be booked via Maxcourse.
