Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust (Website)

We employ around 6,000 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals,
Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes.

Last year more than 120,505 men, women and children were cared for as inpatients (stayed at least one night) or day cases and more than 459,863 people attended our outpatient clinics. Our A&E departments at both hospitals cared for more than 151,349 people. There were some 266,209 therapies services and 310,376 nursing service contacts by our community teams.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is an exceptional place to work with many amazing teams of hard working and dedicated staff, delivering high standards of patient care. We have made significant changes in the way we work to meet the challenges of the changing NHS.

This as an exciting time for our continuing development and we are ensuring that the organisation is fit for purpose by introducing and embedding new skills and behaviours.

We are continuing to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS – yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Membership Council and respond to the needs of their members – patients, staff and the local community.

Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in the changes to the local community needs, in striving to be the best, and in putting their patients first.
